24 ----> Sci Fi Genre !!
Story, Screenplay, Dialogue and Direction -----> Story is simple and straight forward and screenplay is also okay but the problem what I felt was the characterisation of Athreya !! I doesn't know why he is so much envy of the watch !! If the film is 2 hrs 45 mins you can't say there is no space in the film to explain that !! Because the plot is based on watch and Athreya !!
The making style is surely Hollywood level ... Most of the places you can't feel it's VFX !! Hats off to the team !!
But if you have seen a film called Netru Indru Naalai released in 2015 ( staring Vishnu Vishal and CV Kumar production) same story innavum Nalla purira mathiri with lot of fun it was there !! The freeze thing ... Going to the past and future ellamae was explained much more authencity !!
First 20 mins ... Last 20 mins and interval block to an extend is the film which will keep you on the toes !! Remaining places it was boring and flat to be honest !! Romance portion ellam onnum sollura mathiri illa ... Especially look out for the cricket scene in the first half ... That was genuine ROFLMAX moment of the film !!
Casting and Acting ---> Before the film I was worried about Suriya performance .. I thought whole film hinges on Suriya acting !! But Suriya did his job quite well ! Not big negatives !! But as Athreya serious ah terror ah illa sirippu vanthuchu seeing him as a makku kumutta !! And as I said before his characterisation I don't understand !!
Music and BGM ----> 2 Songs were good ... BGM surely not ARM best !! Above average !!
Cinematography, VFX and Editing ----> All were world class but surely they could have reduced run time !! It was boring in between !!
Rating ---> 2.75/5 !! It's not a bad film and it's not a good film !! It's just an average film because of its making value !! Maybe little bit of consistent writing in the middle part of the film and stronger antagonist irrunthu irrukalam that what I felt !!
P.S --- If you guys want a good time travel tamil film and if you have not watched ...please watch Netru Indru Nalai!!
