Baahubali ----> Period Action Drama Genre !!
Story, Screenplay, Dialogue and Direction ----> Simple age old story than but the visual presentation especially in the second half was in different level !! :)
First Half to be honest was boring and not connecting with the story due to some poorly Written predictable screenplay especially the romance sequence with Tamanah scenes ( and also her remaining part ) were pathetic and amateurish !!
The film somehow starts in the second half and gets engaging till the end with some brilliant visuals and good performance !!
Casting and Acting ----> Casting was good but the characterisation could have even more better !! Director spend entire first half for the building up of the characters. Apart from very few scenes remaining scenes ellam onnum perusa manasula nikkura mathiri illa !!
Technical Brilliance :
Be it a art direction especially the second half war fight or the VFX or the sound design or cinematography was all in Hollywood level to an extend !!
Second half towards the climax you would feel you were watching a Hollywood film !! Such was the impact !!
But my doubt is -- if you are spending 200 plus cr for the visuals konja time eduthu innavum nalla story develop panni and with good characterisation oru padam pannalam la ?? Yen oru 1900s la irruntha vantha oru age old periodic story which even a small kid would know what is going to happen next !!
Illati same story koda okay but scenes pudusa edukalam la ....if you just rewind after watching the film apart from 3 to 4 scenes ethuvum pudusa onnum pannala ...!! (Some may feel it's just a MahaBharatham story )
Hollywood they spend on visuals and also on content to get it successful !!
Music and BGM -----> Was good but won't say it was inspiring !!
Rating -- 3/5 !! Worth a watch for its technical brilliance !! Other than that as an SS Rajamouli film it's disappointing one for me !!
