Kathakali -- Action Thriller Genre !!

Even though first half was average with poor romance segment...Second half picks up the speed and the suspense element which makes us guessing till the last makes its good thriller !! 

Kathakali is an example for a good commercial film where most of the audience might like it !! Vishal and Pandiraj both are back with a good flick !!

Hip Hop Tamizha BGM , Cinematography  and runtime of just 2 hrs are the biggest plus ...!! 

Rating -- 3.25/5 !! A Neat action thriller & 2016 Pongal winner !!

Rajini Murugan --- Family Drama Genre !!

Story, Screenplay, Dialogue and Direction ---> Same old family story .. Same old screenplay ... Same old pattern of one useless hero ... One romance scene ... One forceful comedy you must laugh .. One useless villian scene ... One song ... This cycle repeat for 2 times .. Interval comes .... And the pattern continues for another half ... !! 

VVS comedy aachum somewhat okay ... Ithula Ellam after 30 mins of the film epa mudiyum nu irrukum !! Edutha kuppai ah thirippi edupan... Ithu Pongal festival time so neenga  pathu than aganum appadi nu director nambalta sollura Mathiri irruku !! 

Casting and Acting --- > Siva Karthikeyan has improved a lot in acting and he has that strong screen presence but script konja machum irrukanum even if it's a commercial movie illati romba kastam!! 

Keerthy Suresh looks good and her acting is natural with outstanding lip sync !! 

Soori's best in recent times but still not enough !! 

Music, Cinematography and Editing ---> D Imam songs and BGM biggest plus ... Cinematography and Editing Ellam serial type ...!! Editor Ellam proper ah honest ah edit panni irruntha 20 mins mela padam poi irruakthu !! 

Rating -- 1.5/5!! Blade Murugan!!Below average film .. !! Time for Sivakarthikeyan to have a something new !!

Thaarai Thappattai -- Musical Violence / Action genre !! 

Story, Screenplay, Dialogue and Direction ---> Biggest plus of Bala is his strong storytelling with a realistic emotional connect. But here that emotional connect and the story is very weak .. So even though it's very Violent that feel is not there ... It's seems a forced violent scene to feel sympathy for the characters ! 

Justification is not convincing !! So its gets disappointing to see the effort put by all the characters and technicians seems wasted !! 

Acting and casting ----> Varalakshmi steals the show in first half and Sasikumar underplayed his character very  well !! Remaining characters were top notch selection and acting !! 

Music and BGM ---> Songs or BGM ..Illaiyaraja effect all over !! 

Rating -- 2/5 !! Everything seems there but expect that Bala's masterful emotional storytelling !! Even Bala fans would be disappointed !!

Maalai Nerathu Mayakkam -- Romance Drama Genre !!

Story, Screenplay, Dialogue and Direction ---> Wonderful storyline (that important knot Selva can only think ) with a above average screenplay and the SELVARAGHAVAN touches all over the film makes its a good watch !!

Dialogues, Camera angles and Performance of the characters expect Alagam Perumal ( Who as usual does his over acting in a separate track ) everything you can see the influence of Selvaraghavan !!

Its just an extension of 7/G rainbow colony or Kaadhal Kondein ...but that strong haunting impact which we had while watching 7/G or Kaadhal Kondein is not here in Maalai Nerathu Mayakkam ...Maybe due to the Hero performance or not enough strong scene to portray hero's problem well!!

Casting and Acting ---> Heroine Wamiqa Gabbi looks beautiful and make us dumbstruck with her brilliant performance and top notch Lip Sync in her first feature Tamil film ! Reminds a version of Richha Gangopadhyay character in Mayakkam Enna !!

Hero character we can understand ...But still his performance cant bring any impact or love what even the Great Ravi Krishna brought out in 7/G rainbow colony !! Maybe a better hero might have brought out that feel !!

Music and Cinematography ---> Maalai Nerathu Mayakkama Song and theme music is superb from the debutant Music Director Amrit !! Cinematography pakka Selvaragahvan style with angle and lights !!

Rating -- 3.25/5 !! Worth a watch movie !! If Selvaraghavan has directed it might have been even more perfect...but still its a good movie :)
